The behaviour model developed in the MSIRCCF project defines the overall decision flow for reconfiguration of a production system, beginning with the introduction of a disruption or change in requirements, through to deployment on the shop floor. It represents the expectations, interactions, and information flow in the system in such a way as to guide the decisions and system state transitions. The intention is to provide a semi-formal framework around which the processes for both manual and autonomous reconfiguration can be built.
The focus of the model is on the tasks, decision, inputs, and outputs associated with the system response to a change. It has been developed as a generic modular process flow and modules of it have been implemented in the Omnifactory at University of Nottingham.
